Two drivers involved in a Thursday evening crash in Effingham County have died.

One of the victims of the three-vehicle accident near the U.S. 17-Jabez Road intersection has been identified as Virginia Key, a member of the Bloomingdale City Council.

Three other people sustained serious injuries.

The accident is under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol. It involved a tractor-trailer that struck one of the other vehicles head-on.

No other details have been released.
