Dear Editor,

I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to all those who made the Effingham County Fair a huge success this year.

Many, many thanks go out to:
2013 Fair Committee members
Farm Bureau
The city of Springfield
The news media
Effingham County and South Effingham high schools FFA programs, Effingham County Extension Office and the 4-H programs in all the schools
All those who came to entertain
Those who were involved in the beauty pageant
All organizations and businesses that entered a booth exhibit
Youth and adults that entered individual exhibits
My work team, for all the many hours spent working on improvements and prep work getting the fair grounds ready
All the volunteers who gave of their time to help where needed
The thousands of folks who came to enjoy the fairs many activities, I sincerely “thank you”!

We are looking forward to bigger and better fair in 2014. The dates are Oct. 20-25. See you then!
