The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has named two Georgia Southern University Eagles to its 2012 All-South region team.

Senior Marie Fogle, an Effingham County High School alum, and sophomore Sarah Purvis of Warner Robins were named to the second team.

Fogle finished her senior season as the Eagles’ career slugging percentage record holder. She ranks third for career batting average at .345 over her four seasons in Statesboro. In the 2012 campaign, Fogle hit a career-best .397 with nine home runs. She ranks fourth on the GSU career home runs chart with 27.

Purvis and Fogle are also the seventh and eighth Eagles, respectively, to earn NFCA All-Region honors.
