STATESBORO—The Georgia Southern Baseball Dugout Club presents “An Evening with the All-Stars” on Feb. 4 in the Nessmith-Lane Ballroom. The night gets under way with a 6:30 p.m. silent auction and 7:15 p.m. dinner. A question and answer session with All-Stars Chipper Jones and Jonathan Broxton and host Ryan Chambers of the Georgia Southern Radio Network follows the dinner.

A six-time All-Star, Jones is a household name in Georgia and throughout the Southeast. Jones has played his entire career with the Atlanta Braves and has been a fixture in their lineup since 1995. The 1999 National League MVP played high school baseball in nearby Jacksonville, Fla.

Augusta native Jonathan Broxton earned a spot on the National League All-Star team the last two seasons. Broxton recorded a career-best 36 saves in 2009 while posting a 2.61 ERA. He has played for the Los Angeles Dodgers since breaking into the major leagues in 2005. Broxton was a member of the Burke County High School Bears before being drafted in the second round in 2002.

Tickets for the event may be purchased at the Athletics Ticket Office or by calling 800-GSU-WINS. Tickets are $75 each for adults and $50 for children age 17 and under. The children’s ticket includes a complimentary baseball signed by an All-Star. A corporate table for eight is available for sponsorship for $800.

Located at 203 Lanier Drive, the Athletics Ticket Office is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and accepts Visa and Mastercard. All checks should be made payable to the “Georgia Southern Dugout Club.”
