The Effingham County commisioners proclaimed Jan. 20 as “Effingham Champions Day-10U Jaguars Football,” in honor of the Effingham County Recreation and Parks’ 10-and-under football team that won the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association state title.

The Jaguars won the state championship Dec. 13 in Calhoun. They also won the Cracker Bowl, Johnny Overcash Super Bowl and the Rebel Bowl.

The state crown is the first for any ECRP football team.
