EMS tennis serves up big seasons

The Ebenezer boys tennis team won the Coastal Empire middle school region championship.

The Eagles finished the regular season 9-0 in region play and went into the championship tournament as the No. 1 seed. They defeated No. 4 seed William James 5-0 in the semifinals. The Eagles beat the No. 2 seed Richmond Hill Wildcats in the championship match, finishing the season 12-0.

The Lady Eagles of Ebenezer Middle School were the region tennis runners-up.

The Lady Eagles finished the regular season 7-2 in region play and went into the championship tournament as the No. 3 seed. They upset the defending champions and No. 2 seed Richmond Hill Lady Wildcats 3-2 in the semifinals. No. 1 seed South Effingham beat the Lady Eagles 3-2 in the championship round.
