LaMeisha Hunter was chosen by the Effingham Hospital Board of Trustees as the city of Guyton’s representative.

Trustees interviewed candidates during their meeting Tuesday. Hunter, a Guyton resident, is the Rincon city planner. She has considerable experience in planning, zoning, land development and grant writing and has worked for the Statesboro and Hinesville city governments.

Hunter will replace Dr. Franklin Goldwire, who has been Guyton’s representative since 2005. The Board of Trustees thanked Dr. Goldwire for his years of service on the Hospital Authority.  Dr. Goldwire is stepping down after the completion of his four years of service from August 2005-August 2009.

The Board of Trustees expressed their gratitude to Dr. Goldwire for his years of dedication and presented him with an engraved placard for outstanding service.
