The sheriff and chief deputy reported on several accomplishments when they spoke at the Sunrise Rotary meeting. T

Some of the accomplishments that they spoke about included a proactive drug unit that has confiscated hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of drugs, cars, houses and cash. The sheriff's department has grown over the years to at least five officers on duty all the time with additional officers working the evening shifts. Even the sheriff and chief deputy monitor their radios 24/7 and also respond to calls themselves while on or off-duty as needed.

Sheriff McDuffie has come to several Effingham Sunrise Rotary meetings that are held every Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. at the Guyton Christian Church. If you are interested in visiting, come by or call Lonnie Pate at 1-888-395-0440.
