Exhibitors, vendors sought for Second Annual Earth Day Festival

The second-annual Earth Day Festival, in conjunction with the Spring Sale Along the Trail in Guyton is set for April 20 along the Guyton Walking Trail, 8 a.m-2 p.m.

The event is cosponsored by the City of Guyton and Effingham Georgia Green.

Children are encouraged to create costumes or puppets for the Giant Insect Parade, which begins at the caboose at 9 a.m. There will be prizes for first-, second-, and third place in four age groups: 0-6 years, 7-10 years, 11-15 years, and 16+. According to event organizers, the costumes or puppets must be homemade from recycled materials and represent insects, plants, animals, ecosystems, or ways to protect the environment.

Booths are available for exhibitors (free) or vendors. Vendor fee is $40 and available through City Hall. Booths are 10’x10’. Exhibitors must provide their own awning, tables, chairs. Hands-on activities are encouraged and natural- or recycled material take-aways are applauded.
