Boyd crowned Miss ECHS

Hannah Boyd took the crown in the Miss Effingham County High School pageant on April 6.

First runner-up was Amelia Edenfield and second runner-up was Lauren Morgan.

Boyd also was named Miss Spirit of ECHS (congeniality) and most photogenic, and she took first place in academic achievement, interview and evening gown.

Arial Bowman was the casual wear winner and Bayleah Duclos took the people’s choice award.

After more than 40 years with Effingham County Schools, CeCe Nixon is retiring, leaving behind a quiet legacy of excellence, compassion and steady leadership. From her beginnings as a kindergarten paraprofessional to her vital role in the district’s testing office, Nixon has impacted generations of students and educators with her work ethic, professionalism and heart.
