A South Effingham High School student has given back to the elementary school he attended.

For his Eagle Scout project, to earn the highest award and rank in Boy Scouts, Dallas Dasher conducted fundraisers and planned a beautification project around the flagpole at Sand Hill Elementary.

He paved the area with cement and stepping stones to make a walkway, landscaped, and created a fenced border for visitor parking. Dasher had been working on the project since the summer, but spent a large portion of Thanksgiving break week actually on-site installing it.

Dasher is in Troop 295, Flying Eagle Patrol, under Patrol Leader Mark Bennett and Scoutmaster Frank Patterson.
