Rincon Elementary kindergarten students were treated Friday to their annual vehicle career day, where several different cars and trucks used by professionals in the community were on display.

Teacher and event organizer Melissa McLaurin brought together vehicles from the Rincon Police Department, Effingham County EMS, J&R Ice Cream, Georgia Power, Georgia State Patrol, the Department of Natural Resources and Richard Dickey with his tractor.

The students broke into small groups and took turns talking to each of the drivers, examining the vehicles as they went. The children got to stand in the bucket of the Georgia Power truck, sit behind the wheel of the tractor and look inside the EMS truck as technicians explained what they were seeing.
