The Armstrong Atlantic State University Department of Art, Music & Theatre presents Savannah Winds, community wind symphony in residence at Armstrong, in its annual POPS concert, Sunday at 3 p.m. in Armstrong’s Fine Arts Auditorium.
Bright overtures, popular film score medleys, classic symphonic arrangements and famous jazz melodies are all hallmarks of Savannah Winds POPS concerts.
A tribute to the legacy of Ed Caughran, celebrated Savannah music educator, will be renewed with this special concert that provides extraordinary musical experiences. This year’s POPS concert features a film-music tribute to John Williams, music of the Beatles, a Gershwin medley, and selections from the musicals “The Sound of Music,” “Chicago,” and “Wicked!”
