Brian and Suzan Kelley of Yakima, Wash., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Vanessa Leigh Wells, to Patrick Ryan Porter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Porter of Marlow.

The bride elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joyce Wells and the late Ellis Eugene Wells of Yakima, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Kelley of Terrace Heights, Wash. She is a graduate of West Valley High and attends Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Wash., pursuing a degree in art education.

The groom elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Porter of Marlow, Mrs. Birdie Holloway and the late Stephen T. Holloway Sr. of Wilmington Island, the late Kenneth Sessions and the late Phebe Jaudon Sessions of Savannah. He is a graduate of South Effingham High School and attended Georgia Southern University. He is now the bassist for the band, “Showbread,” on Tooth and Nail Records.

The wedding will be held on Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. in Yakima, Wash. The couple will be honored at a reception on Dec. 1 at New Providence Baptist Church in Guyton at 6 p.m. All friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend.
