Mars Theatre to stream major Irish Dance production
Irish dance

SPRINGFIELD  -- Rhythm Of The Dance is one of the two best-known and most-booked Irish dance productions of the past decades, performing before huge audiences. Sadly, the theaters that have presented them every year, have been silenced throughout the world by the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Dance Company Of Ireland, which produces Rhythm Of The Dance, has teamed with the service WatchLive and created a fresh new production that will be made available throughout the world.

The Mars Theatre will host this virtual performance, bringing the passion and excitement of Rhythm of the Dance to area homes starting March 1 until March 21. This virtual event is recorded in front of a live audience and features award-winning dancers, excellent musicians and foot-tapping passion.

“Audiences worldwide love Irish dance and because of the pandemic are unable to watch the show in person,” said Allison Newberry, theatre director. “This virtual performance will allow people to enjoy a festive Irish dance from the safety of their own homes. This is the second year that Irish festivities have been cancelled in our area because of COVID. We wanted to be able to offer an opportunity for the entire family for one low price."

Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased online at www.marstheatre.com. Buyers will receive an email with instructions on how to access the performance and can view it as many times as they would like March 1-21.
