Students from South Effingham High School will be joining thousands of other youth on athletic fields all across America on Wednesday to share their Christian faith with fellow students during the 6th Annual “Fields of Faith” event.

“Fields of Faith” is structured as a student-to-student ministry. Peers invite their own classmates and teammates to meet on their school’s athletic field to hear fellow students share their testimonies, challenge them to read the Bible and to come to faith in Jesus Christ.

“‘Fields of Faith’ is the only event where students and athletes can come together regardless of their denomination, race or school to share God’s Word with their peers. The first ‘Fields of Faith’ held in the area last year was hosted by Bible Baptist. We are thrilled to have expanded our ‘Fields of Faith’ locations this ear to have one held in each of the three counties I represent — Chatham, Effingham and Bryan counties,” said Ed Pulkinen, the Coastal Georgia Area Director of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Calvary Day School and Richmond Hill High School also will be holding “Fields of Faith” events.

“Fields of Faith” began with 6,000 kids on 23 fields in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas in 2004. Three years later, an estimated 75,000 students participated on 386 fields all across the country during last year’s events.
