The city of Springfield hosted a Christmas celebration Wednesday night, with the First Baptist Church of Springfield choir serenading the crowd with carols.

The city Christmas tree, on a lot owned by the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, is across from the church. Charles Hinely provided the tree, and Morgan Tree Service put the tree and lights up. Ribbons and bows were donated by Joann’s Florist, and the Springfield Merchants Association donated the lights.
