The Effingham Sunrise Rotary Club presented a $500 check to Frank Patterson, the Boy Scout district commissioner for Effingham County.

Patterson was the founder of Boy Scout Troop 295 in Guyton and its Scoutmaster for 18 years.

The donation will go to local Eagle Scout projects which will include painting the VFW building in Guyton, building picnic tables for the National Guard Armory, and installing underpinning for the Beulah House in Guyton.
