The Georgia Center for Nonprofits will offer a workshop, “Basics of Resource Development, Part 2 ” on July 24, from 1-5 p.m., at the United Way building, first floor conference room, 428 Bull St., Savannah.

In the first Basics of Resource Development workshop, techniques for acquiring new donors to broaden your funding base were reviewed, as well as effective strategies for renewing and upgrading donor support. This workshop builds on the material covered in the Basics of Resource Development workshop.

It is an in-depth look at the annual development plan to raise funds for the nonprofit’s operations. Bring your nonprofit’s case for support and current development plan. Attendees will look at best practices and will practice making calls on donors.

Certified Fund Raising Executive Judy Walker of J.W. Walker & Associates will present the program. Walker is a professional fundraiser with experience in many different nonprofit organizations.

Fee/registration: $55 GCN members; $70 non-members. To register, go to http://www.gcn.org/Services/NonprofitUniversity/CurrentCourses.aspx. Advance registration is required.
