A local gang leader wanted by authorities in several counties, including Effingham, is in custody following a Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team operation.

CNT arrested 31-year-old Lalrald “Lino” or “Snuffy” Sloman of Savannah, after he attempted to sell heroin on East Broad, on June 2. Sloman fled, but he was apprehended by a K9 from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department K9 Unit.

Sloman, a career criminal, is a documented gang member of Tatemville Terrors, also known as Hellhole Gang, according to the CNT. Information received during the investigation suggests he is one of the enforcer and leaders of the local Savannah gang.

Sloman was charged with various felony drug charges, including to include criminal attempt sale of a controlled substance (heroin), possession of heroin with intent to distribute and obstruction. In addition to CNT’s charges, Sloman also was wanted in Chatham and Bryan and counties.

He is currently being held in the Chatham County Detention Center after being denied bond in Recorder’s Court of Chatham County. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
