Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended a suspect who was wanted on multiple charges following a pursuit Wednesday evening.
According to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, Jerry Frawley, 47, of Eden, fled from deputies after they attempted a traffic stop on Foxbow Drive. Frawley led deputies on a chase that ended on a dirt road near the Ogeechee River of Bluff Drive where he crashed into a tree and fled on foot. Once he accelerated on the dirt road, deputies backed off due to road conditions.
During the pursuit, Frawley turned into a deputy’s car causing minor damage to the patrol car. Frawley then fled in a wooded area.
He later was the passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at U.S 80 and Old River Road. The female driver is being charged with knowingly harboring a fugitive.
Frawley was wanted for felony fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, interference to government property, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and several other traffic charges. Frawley also had active warrants out of Florida for DUI and other traffic related offenses.
