Armstrong Atlantic State University senior outfielder Shelby Duff has been named to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America Division II Softball second team for a second consecutive season, released by CoSIDA last week.

The former Effingham County High School star is the first Armstrong softball player to earn multiple Academic All-America honors from Capital One and CoSIDA after earning second-team honors as a junior last season.

The radiologic sciences major carries a 3.63 GPA for the No. 4-ranked Pirates, who advanced to the NCAA DII Softball Championships in the Salem, Va.

Duff is the all-time leader in Pirate softball history in doubles (56) and is tied for the school record in runs. She also ranks second all-time in at-bats, hits and career batting average.

She joins Jessica Strong (2009) as the only Armstrong softball players to earn Academic All-America softball honors as awarded by Capital One and CoSIDA.
