South Effingham's softball team suffered its first Region 2-AAAAA setback Tuesday, falling to Ware County 5-0 at home.

The Lady Gators got all the runs they needed with a two-spot in the first inning against Kastin Belogorska, who struck out eight without issuing a walk. Ware County added a run in the fourth frame and two in the seventh.

The Lady Mustangs got hits from Emily Laverenz, Alex Brown and Belogorska.

South Effingham will vist Effingham County on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

In junior varsity action Tuesday, South Effingham defeated Ware County 7-2.
