Mr. and Mrs. Owen Poole of Springfield and the late Mr. Buford “Buck” Parsons of Canton are pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Whitney Parsons, to Jason Sharp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Sharp of Guyton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hodges of Savannah, Mrs. Geneva Parsons of Hill City and the late Mr. Buford Parsons. She is a 2003 honor graduate of Effingham County High School and attends Armstrong Atlantic University as a criminal justice major.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. Presley Sharp of Pooler and the late Mrs. Mary Sharp and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Horton of Port Wentworth. He is a 2002 graduate of South Effingham High School and a 2005 graduate of Savannah Technical College where he received a degree as a networking specialist. He is employed at American Port Services.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 22 at First Baptist Church of Springfield at 2 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend.
