Roderick Vaughn and Andrea Kay Kent

Billy and Mickey Alford of Rincon are pleased to announce the March 24, 2012, wedding of their daughter, Andrea Kay Alford, to Roderick Vaughn Kent of Marietta.

Roderick is the son of Cheryl Vaughn and Robert and Gail Kent.

Andrea is a graduate of Effingham County High School. She is employed as an equipment control coordinator for Delta Air Lines in Atlanta. Roderick is a graduate of Walton High School. He is employed as a general manager by Gutter Plus in Marietta.

The ceremony took place at The Gardens at Kennesaw Mountain. April Platt, the bride’s sister, was matron of honor. Kendall Platt, niece of the bride, served as flower girl. The groom’s brother, Robert Kent, was best man. Ushers were Matthew Rowand and Joseph Alford.

The guests were entertained by a harp performance of the couple’s favorite movie themes. Paula Kitchens, aunt of the bride, was the harpist. Andrea was escorted down the aisle by her father while Paula played "A Time For Us," the theme from "Romeo and Juliet." They were escorted by their guests to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

Dinner and dancing followed in the reception hall.

After honeymooning in Hawaii, the couple will reside in Marietta.
