Paige Alexis and Matthew James Mercer

Paige Alexis Mincey and Matthew James Mercer were united in marriage on Friday, April 20, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. on the bluff at the Charles H. Morris Center in Savannah. The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Cary Swanson.


The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Mincey of Rincon. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Harold Clifton of Savannah, Linda M. Reading of California, the late Henry R. Mincey of Rincon and Miriam S. Lee of North Carolina. Paige earned a bachelor of science degree in public relations from Wingate University in 2009 and a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the College of Coastal Georgia in 2011. She is employed by Memorial University Medical Center as a registered nurse.


The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Mercer of Rincon. He is the grandson of Mrs. Patricia H. Coleman, the late James H. Horne of Savannah and the late Mr. and Mrs. Glenn P. Mercer of Port Wentworth. Matthew earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Armstrong Atlantic State University. He is employed by St. Joseph Hospital as a registered nurse.


The bride was escorted by her father, Perry Mincey, and given in marriage by her parents. Mrs. Lauren Mincey Sapp, sister of the bride, served as the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Carly Mincey, Mrs. Susan Ussery, Ms. Alexis Mercer, Ms. Ashley Fowler, Ms. Morgan Baker, Ms. Jenny Gomez, Ms. Brianna Sapp, Ms. Kristen Bowers and Ms. Lyndsey Brinson. Miss Hayleigh Paige Sapp, niece of the bride, served as the flower girl.


Mr. Timothy Mercer, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Brett Mincey, Mr. Davy Sapp, Mr. Adam Dozier, Mr. Stephen Hakanson, Mr. David Renfro, Mr. Brad Godbee, Mr. Daniel Smith and Mr. Marcus Kessler. Ring bearer was Holden Reid Sapp, nephew of the bride.


The wedding was directed by a close family friend, Becky B. Alford. Catering and flowers were by the bride’s aunt, Pamela C. Shores of Southern Image, and special thanks go to One of A Kind Design, Misty DeBlasio, family and friends who made this day extra special and our Lord and Savior for putting the couple together.


The couple honeymooned in Costa Rica. They reside in Rincon.
