A teenage mother and her infant daughter are recovering after being struck by a vehicle Saturday evening.

The accident occurred Saturday around 7:30 p.m., according to Rincon Police Chief Mike Bohannon. The mother, 16 years old, had her 10-month-old baby in a stroller as they attempted to cross West 9th Street near Anderson Street. The area is unlit, Bohannon said.

A 68-year-old driver in a Mercedes struck the mother and child.
