Second Lawsuit Targets Effingham IDA

The Southern Environmental Law Center filed the lawsuit Monday in Effingham County Superior Court on behalf of environmental group One Hundred Miles and Effingham County residents. The suit names the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority as the defendant and alleges violations of Georgia’s Open Meetings Act and Open Records Act

Ready for speech contest

Michaela Lariscy, Micah Christiansen and Amanda Starling take the first step in the Rotary District 6920 Speech Contest by speaking to the Rotary Club of Effingham County. The three students are representing South Effingham High School and will go on to compete against participants from Effingham County High School at The New Ebenezer Retreat Center on March 3 at 7:30 am.
