Thomas and Ramona Kessler have been selected as the grand marshals for the 2010 Effingham Fair Parade.
The Kesslers were selected by Effingham Fair Committee for their 35 years of service and support to the Effingham County Fair. Ramona Kessler has been the fair secretary/treasurer for more than 30 years.
The main reason the Kesslers have been involved in the fair is to promote agriculture and to educate the general public on the agricultural issues.
“As the result of having my parents involved in the Georgia Mountain Fair in Hiawassee, I was always associated with fairs,” Ramona Kessler said.
The 2010 Effingham County Fair will be held Oct. 18-23 at the fair grounds in Springfield.
